Homemade Cleaners

We have slowly over the past year been switching our cleaners from supermarket bought ones, to homemade echo friendly ones.

what i love about making my own clearners, that i know exactly the ingredients, and many of them can be made with only two to four ingredients, that you may even already have in your pantry.

So here are some of the basic items you need to make the cleaning products:

  • Baking Soda
  • Vinegar
  • Lemon/lemon juice
  •  Borax
  • Washing Soda
  • Washing bar soap
  • Dish washing detergent
  • Essential oils
  • Castile soap *
  • Measuring cups/spoons
Some of you might not like the smell of Vinegar, therefore that's when essential oils, such as lavender, lemon oil..can be added to the cleaners and the smell of vinegar disappears.

RECIPES

LAUNDRY DETERGENT - 1 cup of soap flakes ( i used pure soap), 1 cup of washing soda, 1 cup of Borax. I use two tablespoons for every load.
* Note you can find all of these products at your local supermarkets in the Detergent section.

FABRIC SOFTENER - 2 cups of vinegar, 10 drops of essential oils

ALL PURPOSE CLEANER - 1/2 tsp of dish washing detergent,  1 tsp of baking soda, 2tbsp of white vinegar, 2 cups of water, 3 drops of essential oils

TOILET CLEANER - 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1/4 cup of vinegar, 10 drops of essential oil ( sprinkle the baking soda straight into toilet bowl, mix the vinegar and oil and spray into toilet bowl and scrub)

FLOOR CLEANER - 1/4 cup of dish washing detergent, 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 1/4 cup of lemon juice, 10 drops of essential oil, (add to bucket of hot water)

*I will make a download version for you to print.

I will be adding more homemade products over time and all those mention above, i have personally tried them and tested them. Not to mention that the cost of homemade cleaners is quite low and you can make big batches that will last you much longer than store bought options.

HAPPY CLEANING!
