Hi Everyone For a dash of French flair acessorise with a wall clock, depending on your style, it can be romantic as the one my husband spotted in a country town second hand shop and bought for $5Aus or it can be an elegant wrought-iron clock, whatever your style make sure you are on the look out for one at second hand stores, markets, antique shop. A wall clock completes the French look in your home. French style wall clock bought at Mortlake country town for a bargain at $5Aus and looks great in our dining room!

Black and White

Hi All For a simple unique decorating idea - frame pretty pictures in black frames and grouped together to make a special impact. I bought these charcoal drawings of French Landmarks on ebay for about $20Aus, six of them and found the black frames at Ikea for about $2 each!

French Inspiration! My fabulous Armchairs!

Hi Again Everyone I want to share my first purchase that started the transformation of my home to the French look!  I came across one day two beautiful dusty pink armchairs and immediately fell in love with them! When i picked them up from the seller and took them home, they stayed in my spare room for a while until i could figured out where to place them and that is how i thought about starting my own French style at home! Start with one item, like i did and slowly fill your home with things that will create the French look right at home.

Introduction!

Hello Everyone I have created my own blog to talk about my love for Country French Decor or the French look as some people call it. A while back i decided to start transforming my boring, no style home into a french provincial inspired style home and eventually will transform my garden too! I am by no means an expert, but had to start somewhere so decided to start with painting my house walls antique white and replacing the old carpets with timber flooring. My first inspiration was the purchased of two beautiful Victorian rose pink armchairs, followed by a round mahogany coffee table, all items bought on ebay on a small budget. I had already a beige lounge so decided that black, cream and white cushions would be perfect and a shaggy black rug in the middle of the room. Slowly i began to look for particular items in antique shops, op shops, on my travels around the country etc.. so what i have learned so far is that you can do it cheaply, if you have the time, passion and willingness!
